Post image for Save up on your holidays

Going on holidays is something that one looks forward to every day at work. Maybe that’s an exaggeration, but it’s what it feels like, especially when you’re close to going.

But there are stressful parts about going on holiday that are seriously uncalled for. And one of them is money. But there are a couple of tips you can take to save up some money during your holiday.

First of all, consider flying low cost. It might be a pain if you’re going to be flying somewhere far, but if it is a short flight then it is definitely worth it. And you can use the money you save on our next tip.

When looking for a place to stay, consider all factors. A hostel may be the cheapest option, but if you have your family with you, it will cost you in the long run. For example, staying in one of the many holiday villas in Spain, when you’re with your family, is a whole lot cheaper than having to pay for a couple of hotel rooms. Also, staying in a house will allow you to cook your own meals, at least some times, which will also save you money.

Your own personal party

by admin on June 29, 2010

Post image for Your own personal party

You know and I know and the rest of the world knows that the party capital of the World is Ibiza. It has the best clubs, the best DJs and the best atmosphere for partying, as most people are there to do the exact same thing as you. That is what makes Ibiza holidays so popular among younger people and party animals. But sometimes the question arises: what else can we do while we’re there, or, what to do while night doesn’t come?

The normal routine for someone spending party holidays in Ibiza is pretty much this: wake up at around noon, maybe later, grab something to eat and go to the beach. You have your fun, swim around and get cooler. Then you go back to your room and probably nap before dinner. This should get you all the energy you need for a night of partying. You then meet up with friends, hit the cafes, bars and then finally the club or clubs of choice for the night.

Cheap holidays are possible in Ibiza. , but it should be said that it is not exactly expensive. The tourist authorities in the island, along with the clubs, restaurants and hotel owners, know what kind of tourists they attract, and are smart enough to cater to them. This means that for every top quality full service hotel there’s a cheap lodge where you can rest your sorry, aching legs from all the dancing. And for every expensive restaurant there are more than enough bodegas and fast food places to feed an army of ravers.

If you are a concerned parent and your child is going to Ibiza with friends, there is some stuff you also should know about. The myth about it being a drug capital is totally fake; in fact, it’s hard to smuggle drugs into the island because of the fact that it’s an island. The rave culture is often connected in the media with drugs, especially ecstasy, and alcohol abuse, but that is not often the case. The trend now is for straight edge partying, which, in my view, is the only way to do it. Surely you can have a couple of beers or drinks with friends, but do you really want to have your head clouded by drugs or to be totally drunk while dance music is pounding your years and bouncing off the walls?

Family Travel

Post image for Family Travel
Are you and your family heading out this summer for a trip and you have concerns about the West Nile Virus. This is a growing concern for many parents as this virus continues to spread across the country. Children seem to be at a low risk which is good news to the ears of parents everywhere. But doing what you can to protect again mosquito bites is always a good idea.
Deet is just one mosquito repellent but should be used with caution and the Environmental Protection Agency offers these following recommendations for use of this product.  If your baby is less then two months old, this should not be used and always read and follow the direction on the product. Never apply on irritated skin or over cuts or scrapes and do not apply near the mouth or on the hands of younger children.
It is not a good idea to let children apply it themselves and do not over-apply the mosquito repellent. Once you are back indoors, be sure to wash with soap and water all the areas that you applied the product and wash any clothing that has repellent on be before wearing again. Because this is a spray, do not use it near food or indoors. Do not spray your face but rather spray you hands and then apply to your face.

Your best friend, the Concierge

by admin on June 12, 2010

Post image for Your best friend, the Concierge

There are some things that set luxury or otherwise high end hotels from the rest of the hotel pack. The obvious one is the quality of the facilities. More expensive hotels are expected to have better rooms, a quality pool, perhaps even a gym, a spa or a massage parlor, perhaps all three in one, quality bars and restaurants.

But what really sets a quality hotel apart from the average ones are the quality of the staff and the service they provide for you. The finest example of this is the hotel concierge. Staying in a hotel with a good concierge is the kind of thing that makes you happy that all the cheap Dorset hotel rooms were booked and you had to stay at a more expensive one. I gave Dorset as an example because it’s a place that’s relatively small, but you’d still have a hard time figuring out where to go on a slow Wednesday night to have some fun.

But the concierge’s job isn’t just about sending you to the perfect bar to watch the football and drink a couple of beers. It’s his or her job to help you out with anything you need  to find on the town. Need an all night dry cleaners?

Extending Your Stay

by admin on June 12, 2010

Post image for Extending Your Stay

You may be only a few days into your holiday when your plans change. Whether you’ve moved the day of your flight, or want some extra days to explore more of the area, you will need to find accommodation. Many hotels have availability flexibility, which means even though you only booked a week, you can often get a couple extra days if you ask. It is important to give the hotel as much notice as possible, so you are more likely to take advantage of the availability.

If it is high season, you may find that the hotel is booked full. If you won’t be able to extend your stay at that particular hotel, you’ll find yourself in need of immediate accommodation. If you have some notice, you can search online for other hotels in the area. Bedfordshire hotels alone are in abundance throughout the city, and no matter where you are, there should be more options nearby.

It is important to consider all your options as soon as you know you’re staying longer. High tourism seasons can mean hotels are booked for weeks in advance. Getting a last minute room can be difficult, but it won’t be impossible. Find and contact the hotels in your area as soon as possible.

The Right Vehicle

by admin on June 9, 2010

Post image for The Right Vehicle

Anytime during the the year people will travel to far away destinations to see the sights of other countries. If you have a large family or are meeting someone to travel with, you will probably need a rental car that is large enough to carry everyone and their luggage.  Booking early is a good idea as this size of vehicle is popular. 7 seater car hire is available in many countries and most major cities as well as airports.

With the right size vehicle you will have the room you need because comfort is important. This type of vehicle could be a full size MPV like a minivan or a small commercial van. The VW Sharan will hold seven people comfortably as well as three pieces of luggage.
A minivan like the Vauzhall Zafira will hold four adults and two children along with three pieces of luggage and so is another car that you can choose from.  Rental cars come in all sizes to fit your needs and there are so many to choose from. Some are basic and have better gas mileage but if you like luxury, those cars can be rented also. Whatever your needs, you can certainly find the car the is right for your trip.
